A curious letter in the archives: Jonas Friedenwald and the new Duke University School of Medicine.

A n interesting letter about an important figure in the history of American ophthalmology was recently discovered in the archives of the Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, NC. The letter, dated September 29, 1929, is from Dr Julian Deryl Hart (1894-1980) to Dr Wilbert Cornell Davison (1897-1972). In the letter, Hart discusses plans for the new Duke University School of Medicine. Midway through the letter, Hart writes,
